The Billerica Community Farmers Market is able to run SNAP/EBT and SUN Bucks/EBT transactions to improve accessibility for our neighbors with food insecurity.
Thanks to contributions from Town of Billerica Community Grant, Corporate Sponsors & Donations from Friends of the Market, the Billerica Community Farmers Market is able to match up to $25 per market shopper each week, until funds run out.
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program):
The BCFM provides up to $25 additional SNAP dollars per market shopper each week, as funding allows.
Bring your state issued EBT card to the Market Manager’s table to purchase SNAP coupons.
The Market Manager will swipe your card and the amount purchased is deducted from your SNAP account.
SNAP Coupons purchased will be doubled (up to $25 per Market Shopper per week). Example: If you purchase $25 with your SNAP/EBT card, we will give you $50 in coupons to spend with vendors on SNAP eligible products.
Use the SNAP coupons on any SNAP-eligible items. Coupons do not expire and can be used week to week.
SNAP is administered by the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA). SNAP benefits include:
• Monthly funds on an EBT card to buy food
• $20 a month put back on your EBT card when you use SNAP to buy local produce via the Healthy Incentives Program (HIP)
• SNAP Path to Work free education and training opportunities
• Free nutrition education classes and resources
• Connections to other kinds of help, like utility discounts, free school meals, and discounted admissions to many Commonwealth museums and cultural institutions via EBT Card to Culture

SUN BUCKS (Summer Nutrition Programs for kids):
The BCFM provides up to $25 additional SUN Buck dollars per market day, as funding allows. Please refer to same instructions as SNAP for how to use your SUN Bucks card at the Billerica Community Farmers Market.
SUN Bucks (also known as Summer EBT) is administered by the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA). SUN Bucks is a federal food benefit that helps low-income families with school-aged children buy food when schools are closed for the summer. SUN Bucks is a separate card from SNAP and can be used to buy any food that can be bought with SNAP. Most food is SNAP-eligible. You cannot use SNAP to buy prepared foods or any food that is sold hot.
SUN Bucks is a benefit issued in June for use during the summer months. The benefits do expire if they are not used by the prescribed deadline.
WIC and Senior FMNP Coupons:
WIC participants and eligible seniors can use WIC and Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons for fruits and vegetables at the Billerica Community Farmers Market.
To use WIC Farmers' Market coupons, find an approved farm vendor, select fresh local, unprepared fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs. Hand the paper coupons to the seller.
Not all Farms are appproved.
Sellers cannot give cash change if your total is less than the coupon value.
