Last week, we counted nearly 4,000 guest who attended our opening market and want to thank everyone for their excitement before, during and after opening day. We heard so many lovely compliments, and though it’s hard work for many volunteers and vendors, it’s those positive comments that keep our motivation and energy going all Season long. So, keep it up! Read some of your comments posted toward the end of this newsletter.

Week 2 of the market season is here, and there’s no better sign of early summer than the arrival of fresh, locally grown strawberries. Sweet, vibrant, and packed with nutrients, strawberries are a delicious reminder of the connection between healthy food, local farms, and personal well-being.

This week, we're celebrating Wellness at the Market—the many ways our community can support healthy living through fresh food, movement, education, and connection. Whether you're shopping for seasonal produce, learning a new recipe, enjoying a demonstration, or simply spending time outdoors with neighbors, every visit to the market is an opportunity to invest in your health and the vitality of our local community.

Be sure to stop by our vendors for the season’s first strawberries and strawberry themed goods, discover wellness resources and activities throughout the market, and take a moment to enjoy all that makes our market a welcoming gathering place for everyone.

Vendor Spotlight: Busy Bee Bakery

What began as a hobby quickly turned into something sweeter. Ashley and Marisa started baking sourdough for friends and family, and after an enthusiastic response, Busy Bee Bakery was born.

Now a licensed cottage food bakery in Burlington, they offer artisan sourdough loaves, cinnamon rolls, Pop-Tarts, pastries, and homemade jams.

Outside the kitchen, Marisa works in EMS and is studying to become a paramedic, while Ashley works in human services. Together, they share a commitment to caring for others—whether in an ambulance or through a warm, freshly baked loaf.

We’re excited to welcome Busy Bee Bakery to the Billerica Community Farmers Market this season. Stop by and say hello—you might even meet Marisa’s dad, Paul!
