Dear Friends of the Billerica Farmers Market,

Get ready for one of the most festive afternoons of the season as we celebrate our Red, White & Blue Market! This week, we’re honoring the dedicated local first responders who work every day to keep our community safe while also recognizing America250, the nationwide commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary. It’s an afternoon filled with community spirit, local food, family fun, and patriotic pride.

We’re excited to welcome Bob Leger playing Market favorite sing along music tunes sponsored by the Billerica Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Families won’t want to miss our Children’s Pie Eating Contests, taking place every half hour from 3:30–6:30 PM while supplies last. Cheer on the contestants, share a few laughs, and enjoy this classic summer tradition!

As a special thank-you to our local heroes, The Stand is generously sponsoring free lemonade for first responders throughout the market. We invite the community to join us in expressing appreciation for the men and women who serve and protect our neighborhoods every day.

The Story of the Renovated Pinehurst Park

When landscape architect David Warner, Project Executive, IMEG Corp, recently stopped by the Billerica Community Farmers Market, he saw firsthand how the improvements he designed for Pinehurst Park are benefiting the neighborhood.

The former site of the Ditson Elementary School was recently renovated to create much-needed open space for residents, with accessible walking paths, a shade pavilion, benches, fitness equipment, and improved basketball courts. Accessibility was a key priority, making it easier for people using walkers or wheelchairs to enjoy the park.

The pavilion has become especially valuable for the Farmers Market, providing a permanent shaded gathering space and a home for market entertainment.

“Most of the homes around here have very little yard space,” Warner said. “This is such a vital piece of open space for this neighborhood.”

Today, Pinehurst Park is more than a park; it's a welcoming community gathering place where neighbors can connect, relax, and enjoy all that the Farmers Market has to offer.

What can I tell you. I love the new layout. It's nice having it in a big open field. I love seeing the returning familiar vendors but it is great to see new vendors. Lived here for 15 years. My wife loves the alpaca. (Craig)

The new walking paths were awesome! ... I also made dinner and breakfast with veggies from the market! I also loved the new covered picnic area. I had a nice lunch there with my mom. (Beth)
