Welcome Market Lovers!

Life’s a peach and so is our Peach Harvest Festival at the Billerica Community Farmers Market!

Come for the sweet, juicy & freshly picked local peaches - stay for the community. Don’t forget to look for peachy specials from our Vendors, e.g. Mountains of fresh peaches, peach crafts, peach colored flowers, peach soup, peach baked goods, peach lemonade, peach marinade, peach slushy …. basically, if it can be peached, we’ve peached it. It’s going to be un-peachin-lievable!

Market Happenings:

BIG TENT - Get out of the elements, grab a spot at a table, wear a smile and breathe. It’s a great opportunity to slow down from the busy day and meet new friends.

IN THE FIELD - DJ Dave is back “spinning” the songs everyone wants to hear. Because, what’s a peach party without some toe-tapping?!

KIDS TENT - Each week we feature free kids crafts, games or activities. Staffed by our volunteer art directors, there’s will always be fun things to do at this tent. Don’t miss stopping by.

DEMO TENT - Features our friends from The Emerald Rose with their Shepards Pie tasting, recipe cards and free raffles.

COMMUNITY PARTNER TENTS - Family Friends of Billerica Library and The Billerica Historical Society.

MARKET MANAGERS TENT - Located at the main entrance at Grove Street stop by to find out more about our Market, ask questions, discover how you can volunteer, and redeem your SNAP & SUN BUCKS benefits.

TAKE PICTURES - We want to see and show everyone all the fun going on but we can’t be everywhere in the crowd. We invite you to take pictures of your experiences at the Market and share them on our Facebook Group.

At the market this week, try to find one fruit or vegetable for every color in the rainbow, take pictures, then post them on our site!

Have you heard of Blisspoint Meadery in Bedford, MA? They're local and make the most amazing mead. They even have their own bees for the honey!

Blisspoint offers a huge variety, some are like a traditional wine (around 12.5% alcohol), and others are lighter and bubbly (around 6.9%). You can find dry, semi-sweet, and sweet meads, with flavors like blackberry, black currant, cranberry, lime, strawberry, apple, raspberry, autumn olive, orange blossom, mango, and grape. And of course, they have some delicious honey-only meads too! Plus, they experiment with herbs and spices – so many exciting options!

Best of all? Everything is 100% gluten-free! Definitely worth checking out – they often do tastings, so you can find your new favorite.

The Billerica Historical Society

The society was formed in 1894 and incorporate two years later. The mission is to collect and preserve items of local history and to share the history with the community.

Almost 10,000 items have been cataloged from soup spoons to farming equipment. That is probably less than half of the items remaining in our collection.

Family Friends of Billerica Library

Founded in 1996 by a group of volunteer patrons, the Family Friends of the Billerica Public Library is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide financial support to the library through fundraising.

What’s better than Old Fashion Peach Cobbler?!

Ingredients:

6 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or 1 large can of sliced peaches, drained)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F

Prepare peaches: If using fresh, peel and slice them. In a medium bowl, mix peaches with 1/4 cup of the granulated sugar and 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Let them sit while you prepare the batter.

Melt butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish by placing it in the oven while preheating. Once melted, remove the dish from the oven.

Make the batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugars, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add milk and vanilla; stir until smooth.

Assemble: Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish—do not stir. Spoon peaches and their juices evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir.

Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling. The batter will rise around the fruit.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
